Connie spent her childhood and early adulthood in Hawaii and Japan (where she was born), and moved to California at age 30. Always a creative child, she took art classes whenever possible in high school, then majored in art at a liberal arts college, graduating with a focus on painting.
After college, needing to make a living, she dabbled in commercial art and publishing before eventually settling into a career in Silicon Valley as a technical writer.
For many years Connie's artistic bent found expression in a variety of ways, but especially in theater art, where she happily designed sets and T-shirts. Eventually, wanting to return to a more pure form of art, she returned to painting, starting with small still lifes, and moving to larger abstracts. |
